How would you cope without your faithfull mobile, iPod or games console? Its amzing how important these little gadgets can become, from making exercise or work more endurable to keeping you in touch with whats going on in with nearest and dearest.
Gadget Cold Turkey is no joke, surviving without things you take for granted can make modern life just a little bit more tough! With out gadgets how would we cope with the following:
Passing dead time
Keeping the noise of the world at bay
Keeping up with the Jones’s
Catch up with work on the move
Keeping your home running
Keeping yourself looking great
Keeping the kids occupied
From your alarm clock in the morning to your first text of the day, we should all consider how much we really rely on gadgets in all their forms, even items we dont really consider as gadgets such as phones and cameras. How much faith do we put in electronics and what would happen if they were to stop working?

UK Department Store is our sister site and it has 9 floors of great shopping including a huge childrens toys section with 72 of the leading kids toys as chosen by The Toys Retailers Association at the start of each year. There are toys for kids of all ages from new born to gadgets and electronics for teens.

Games, electronics, construction, TV film tie-in character toys from all the top brands. Kids toys are quite technological these days with even younger children being aware of how to use computers and operate electronics. Some gadget type toys are listed below:
Doctor Who Hybrid Voice Changer Mask - Fits over your head and repeats phrases from the show, plus changes you vouce to sound like a fearsome Hybrid!
Flytech Dragonfly - The worlds smallest r/c plane, flys for 10 minutes from the easy to use controls.
Tamagotchi Connexion Jinsei Plus (V4) - The latest virtual Tama experience with internet connectivity and more to do than ever.

While this site and blog are here to celebrate the best gadgets it is always fun to trawl the depths of the gadget hell, with the good, the bad and the ugly that have us scratching our heads and end up gathering dust in cupboards/garages and charity shops across the country.
Sinclair C5 - push bikes have been around for hundreds of years, keep you healthy has superior maneuverability and wont leave you by the site of the road too often!
Bread maker - with a decent loaf costing as little as 40p, investing hours of work does not look like a great saving.
Pocket TV - watching 10 minutes of TV before your store of batteries ran out, was no fun!
Home Weather Station - it is raining/it is sunny! etc
Sodastream drinks maker - price of refill £1.59, cost of fizzy pop 29p!!
There are loads of these, let me know if I have left out any particularly hideous and or annoying ones!!! With the benefit of hindsight many gadgets are never destined or longevity or popularity, while some of the more daring ones do breakthrough. The ones that acheive universal status transcend gadgets and just become part of our lives (mobile phones and MP3 players) while early versions can look rather silly. The first MP3 players could only store 1 song, and anyone who bought the very first carphones or mobile phones will testify to all the problems that went along with being a trend setter!!!

Since it’s officially summer time, I may as well go through the top summer related gadgets that we all love:
iPod and MP3 player - Make travel even better, and more importantly enjoy the scenery by blocking out annoying family members and random members of the public.
Games console - It’s summer it must be raining outside, stave off boredom for another few hours with the Nintendo Wii or PS3.
Satnav - Getting lost is a common cause for falling out over the summer months, now you can blame TomTom or Garmin for your inability to read road signs or take basic instructions!
USB toys - While everyone else is having fun outside there is a high chance you will be stuck inside working, this is just the time to invest in some neat gadgets and toys for your desktop.
iPod speakers - again for work, drown out your co-workers telling you their holiday exploits and all the fun they had in India, Africa or Mexico.
Digital photo frames - Show everyone how exotic and unique your holiday was and all the nice peoples phone numbers you have got….
In fact summer is not all that great after all, summer sucks!
